HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I cannot believe that its almost Easter!I just don't know where the time has gone.It was only five minutes ago it was christmas..a nice reminder is to see all the Spring flowers emerging such as this beautiful purple crocus..the sad thing is that they don't last for long!My garden is covered in Yellow daffs and even the Wisteria has buds on .this is what it will look like in the Summer.I also have many pansies and violets including a wild white violet..!they are quite tiny and you need to look quite hard to see them growing in our hedges, they are not quite so abundant as the purple variety!

Tintagel castle and its dramatic coastline

Today the weather is miserable..even Cornwall looks awful in the rain!Come Summer the place looks completely different...it is a pleasure to live here when the sky is blue, there are so many beautiful places to visit...lovely old villages, seaside towns, the moors......

This is the view from my home, we are very lucky to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty, very close to the Camel trail, where you can see lots of wildlife such as deer, squirrels, badgers adn even stoats. It has been rumored that otters are back in the area..i would love to see an otter..!The only wild otter I have ever seen was on the Isle of Skye...we were sitting on a bank by the Loch and he appeared suddenly out of the water carrying a fish in his mouth...he ran in front of us . not peturbed at all ,and then sploosh!he was gone again! It made our day!

SUMMER HOLIDAY ANYONE?

First of all let me show you where i live....

this is my home..it wasn't always like this..when we bought it twelve years ago it was in a sorry state, and close to complete ruin.It was built in 1858 as a coach house to the main manor which is just over the hedge..We think the house itself was where the servants used to sleep and also the laundry..We rent this part of our house out for summer holidays..it sleeps 2 adults in a double bedroom....WE DON'T MAKE A FORTUNE, BUT HEY!IT PAYS SOME BILLS! if you would like to rent it please contact me!we are very reasonable !

My home, my sanctuary

I know this looks like an Edwardian christmas card but this was taken one November a few years ago, about a foot of snow fell in four hours..we were snowed in for a couple of days as we are surrounded by hills..the only way you could get out was to walk...which we didn't!
Sometimes its just nice to foget about whats going on outside and snuggle up in front of the fire with a good book and a cup of Horlicks..!
